Wanna know some honest truth? I am not usually a fan of sauces that have a yogurt flavor. Even when I could eat yogurt, I didn't like it that much. But since I was creating a Greek Meatball recipe, I kind of figured I needed a traditional Tzatziki sauce to go with it.
And let me tell you something else true...I have become a lover of this sauce. The light, zingy flavor pairs perfectly with Greek Meatballs. I actually hid all the leftovers in the fridge so I could have it for lunch the next day! Yikes.
1/2 cup plain, unsweetened coconut yogurt
3 tablespoons tahini
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon honey
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons water, only if sauce seems too thick. this can vary based on how much oil is in your tahini.
add all ingredients to blender & blend for 15-20 seconds.
serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
will stay fresh for 5 days in refrigerator.
